When Taylor and Bree began planning their Villa Parker wedding, they envisioned something timeless, cozy, and full of Italian-inspired charm. With both having roots in Italian families, they wanted their day to feel like a gathering in the countryside. The celebration was complete with a long family-style dinner under the stars, lush greenery, and warm hospitality that made every guest feel at home.

Their story began in an improv comedy theater in Tampa, Florida, back in 2019. “We were performing in a scene about a couple shopping for a couch. I guess you could say we just never called ‘cut!’” After five years of dating, they decided to host a destination celebration that brought together their loved ones in Colorado, a place close to their hearts.

What We Love About This Villa Parker Wedding

  • A classic, minimalist color palette of black, white, and olive green
  • Dinner under the stars at Villa Parker’s back patio
  • Family-style Italian feast and dessert cannoli + gelato cart
  • Day-after mountain photos in their wedding attire

Classic and Minimalist Wedding Style Done Their Way

Bree’s goal for her bridal stylewas simple: “I just wanted to feel like myself.” She achieved that with the Celeste gown by Justin Alexander, a minimalist yet modern silhouette that paired beautifully with a thrifted vintage lace veil restored by a family friend. “The lace trim brought that old Italian feel, and the drama of the veil contrasted perfectly with the simplicity of the dress.”

Her maid of honor wore a silk olive-green Jenny Yoo gown, adding subtle color against the black-and-white theme. Taylor looked sharp in a custom Indochino tuxedo with a bow tie, matched by the fathers and grandfathers. “He really wanted the look to feel elevated,” Bree shared, “and the tailored tux definitely did that.”

Why They Chose Villa Parker

When planning their destination wedding, Taylor and Bree knew Colorado would be the place. “It’s somewhere we’ve traveled to a lot as a couple, and it felt like such a big part of our story,” they said. Once they visited Villa Parker, everything fell into place.

The venue’s Tuscan-style architecture and intimate setting felt instantly right. “Our venue really feels like an old Italian villa or house. It was cozy yet elegant. We could have dinner outside under the lights and didn’t need to do much décor because Villa Parker has so much personality already.”

Florals in the courtyard fountain, candles on the tables, and arrangements in the ballroom chandelier enhanced the natural atmosphere. Their coordinator helped bring all the details together so the couple could focus on what mattered most—being present with their guests.

A Ceremony Full of Meaning

In the villa’s sunlit courtyard, Taylor and Bree exchanged vows in a ceremony that felt relaxed and deeply personal. Their close friend Branson officiated while the couple wrote their own vows, which made the moment both heartfelt and fun. “We wrote our own vows, and it ended up being such a blast,” Bree shared. Guests stayed to mingle in the courtyard afterward, enjoying the setting before moving into cocktail hour

Choosing Vendors Who Shared Their Vision and Values

The couple planned the day themselves with the help of their parents and a few trusted Colorado vendors. They first discovered their photographer Madeline J Studios through the venue. “We saw her photos from Villa Parker and immediately knew we wanted her,” they said. “There hasn’t been a single person who’s seen our photos and not been amazed.”

Food was another top priority. Villa Parker connected them with Chef Victor of Elevated Taste Catering, who worked closely with the couple to design an Italian family-style feast. “Victor sat with us and worked through every detail to make sure our big Italian dinner was perfect,” they recalled.

To keep the energy high, DJ Matt Franco of Rise DJs kept the dance floor going all night. pink cowboy hats, feather boas, and oversized glasses also helped make for unforgettable photos.

A Villa Parker Reception Focused on Connection and Celebration

Dinner took place outdoors at one long connected table, where guests shared a family-style meal under the string lights. “We did toasts between each course,” Bree said. “It helped pace the evening and made everything intimate and fun.”

The setup was simple but intentional, with candles, florals, and conversation filling the space. Later in the night, the tone shifted from relaxed to lively. “Taylor’s family are big Broadway fans. There was quite a bit of impromptu performance as the night went on, and it was so much fun.” One of the night’s highlights was when Taylor’s dad sang for the mother-son dance.

Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Chef Victor surprised guests with a cannoli and gelato cart, a nostalgic nod to their Italian roots.

What They Learned From Planning Their Villa Parker Wedding

Not everything went exactly according to plan (“Our seating chart got a little out of sorts,” they admitted), but the couple took it in stride. “We didn’t want to set ourselves up to be wrecked if something went wrong. What mattered most was that everyone was there and we got married, everything else was icing on the cake.”

Their biggest advice? “Focus on what makes you you,” they shared. “Many people will tell you what you should do, but your wedding should be built around what’s meaningful to you. Don’t do traditions just because people expect them. Do them because they matter to you.”

Two outdoorsy DIY lovers, four dogs, and a passion for nature—that’s the heart of Jenny and Sean’s Stove Prairie Ranch wedding. What started as a dream for a laid-back, design-forward celebration became a full weekend campout filled with personal touches, pastel florals, and unforgettable memories. From hand-painted signage to ceramics the couple personally decorated,, every element of this Colorado campout wedding reflected a piece of Jenny and Sean.

Jenny and Sean’s love story began on Tinder, and from their first messages, they bonded over bird hunting, camping, and hosting backyard hangouts. It’s no surprise then that they turned their wedding at Stove Prairie Ranch into a weekend-long campout for guests who wanted to join them under the stars.

This love of the outdoors carried through in their venue choice. Nestled in Northern Colorado, Stove Prairie Ranch offered scenic views, sprawling outdoor space, and even a big red tractor cart that shuttled guests to the ceremony site. An unexpected highlight that added a playful touch.

What We Love About This Stove Prairie Ranch Wedding:

  • The personalized outdoor-inspired details like game bird escort cards
  • Dogs not only walking down the aisle but also signing the marriage license (yep, really!)
  • A weekend-long campout at Stove Prairie Ranch with guests pitching tents and soaking up the Colorado scenery
  • Jenny’s dual wedding-day looks featuring an elegant cape for the ceremony and a party-ready outfit for the reception
  • Custom DIY details, from the invitation suite to  cake plates, that made the day feel uniquely theirs

Fashion That Balanced Elegance with Authenticity

Jenny’s fashion goal was timeless elegance with a nod to old Hollywood glam. She wore a stunning gown that transformed from ceremony to reception with a removable cape instead of a veil, paired with soft waves and a classic makeup look. When it was time to party, both Jenny and Sean changed into relaxed outfits that felt more “them,” embracing the laid-back vibe they wanted their guests to enjoy all weekend. Sean chose a linen suit in a soft pastel that matched the color palette and was ideal for the summer celebration.

A Stove Prairie Ranch Wedding Ceremony Full of Emotion (and Dogs!)

The couple opted for a first look just outside the getting-ready cottage, followed by portraits with family and friends. Without a traditional wedding party, they were able to spend more time with their guests throughout the day, which was one of their top priorities.

Their ceremony, officiated by a close friend, was emotional and heartfelt, telling the full story of their relationship. But the true stars of the show? Their four dogs. Two escorted them down the aisle, while the other two served as ring bearers. After the ceremony, the pups got to sign the marriage license. A unique Colorado perk that allowed Lena and Foster (the dogs they had before meeting each other) to be official witnesses to their union.

Bringing Their Vision to Life With a Creative (and Trustworthy) Team

As avid DIYers, Jenny and Sean took the lead on planning and designing the wedding themselves. Jenny created everything from the dog silhouette illustrations in the invite suite to the seating chart and signage. “Lean in to the personal touches and details that matter to you,” she advised. “It’s so fun to see details truly reflect who you are as a couple.”

Still, they knew when to call in the pros. “Find vendors that you trust absolutely to execute on your vision and then enjoy your day,” Jenny said. Some were venue-recommended, while others were discovered through social media and chosen because their portfolio aligned with Jenny’s Pinterest board. The result? A seamless blend of DIY charm and professional execution.

A Stove Prairie Ranch Wedding Reception Rooted in Celebration and Sweetness

The reception felt like one big, joyful party. Guests enjoyed a relaxed outdoor cocktail hour, a nod to Jenny and Sean’s love of nature and community. A painting by Sean’s mom welcomed everyone, and Jenny’s hand-crafted signage brought everything together.

Their cake-cutting moment featured plates they painted themselves on a pre-wedding pottery date. An incredibly sweet DIY keepsake they now use for anniversaries. And instead of a traditional cake dessert, guests were treated to the couple’s favorite ice cream, served up under a glowing Colorado sunset.

As the sun dipped behind the hills, Jenny and Sean changed into their party looks and rejoined the dance floor, ready to celebrate the night away.

Why Personal Details Make All The Difference

Their best advice? “Lean into what matters to you—those details that feel like you as a couple. And when the day comes, let go and trust your team.”

With heartfelt personal touches, a ceremony led by love (and paws), and a weekend spent under the stars, Jenny and Sean’s Stove Prairie Ranch wedding wasn’t just a celebration—it was a memory made for a lifetime.

Ashley and Ramiro’s love story started with a simple night out after work—and eventually led to a whirlwind proposal on the Amalfi coast. “We had vouchers from the pandemic that were about to expire,” Ashley shared. “I had to convince Ram to go on this trip. We got sick as soon as we landed, then he got food poisoning just as we were starting to feel better.” But somewhere between jet lag and recovery, they managed to make happy memories. “Ram took me to a jewelry store and I unknowingly picked out my own engagement ring. We walked to the pier and he proposed. All while I thought we were just having a regular conversation.”

After that trip, they knew they wanted to see the rest of the world together, and planning a wedding that reflected their shared joy and bold personalities felt like the natural next step. Their DIY Denver wedding wasn’t just an event, it was an explosion of color, creativity, and pure celebration. Set at Blanc, a modern-industrial venue tucked just outside downtown Denver, the day brought together two years’ worth of planning, crafting, and dreaming.

What We Love About This DIY Denver Wedding:

  • The couple’s unforgettable aisle entrance to Gangsta’s Paradise followed by Young and Beautiful
  • Custom temporary tattoos featuring their faces
  • Rainbow-colored florals and glittering wardrobe changes
  • A surprise mariachi performance organized by their moms
  • DIY elements galore, from the “Best Day Ever” piñata backdrop to personalized guest bookmarks

Saying Yes to Bold Fashion (and Custom Everything)

Fashion was a huge part of Ashley and Ramiro’s wedding vision, and they each worked with local designers and makers to create looks that were completely their own. Ashley described her style as “rainbows, unicorns, and glitter,” and her wedding day outfits fully delivered on that vibe.

She found both of her show-stopping looks at A&BÉ Bridal Shop in Denver. For the ceremony, she wore the Gia gown by Made with Love Bridal, styled with rainbow-colored platform sandals, a rainbow sequined cathedral-length veil, and a custom orchid choker made by her florist, Blumenhaus. For the reception, she switched into a sparkly ivory-and-nude Willowby gown by Watters, still full of shine, but made for dancing.

Ramiro’s look was equally intentional and personal. He wore a custom black and green suit from James Givens Custom Clothiers, complete with a full floral lapel also created by Blumenhaus. The couple kept their looks completely under wraps from each other for a full year leading up to the big day, making their first look even more meaningful. “It was a roller coaster of emotions to see everything executed so perfectly. Doing a first look in our custom outfits made it all the more special.” To keep the energy high and inclusive, they also invited guests to wear their most colorful outfits, and no one held back.

Junebug Tip: One subtle but lasting way to add personality–or a pop of color–to your marriage is through unique wedding bands. Think pink sapphires, yellow diamonds, or unexpected shapes and textures. It’s a small detail that can speak volumes about who you are, both individually and together.

Starting DIY Denver Wedding Journey With What Made Them Happy

For Ashley and Ramiro, the most important goal was simple: “We mainly wanted everyone to have a good time. Good vibes only,” Ashley shared. That outlook guided every decision—from choosing a colorful palette (“the more color, the better!”) to making their dinner the highlight of the evening.

“We’ve been to so many weddings where you leave hungry and unimpressed by their chicken cordon bleu,” Ashley said. “So we made food a priority.” That mindset paid off, with guests raving about the meal and the relaxed, joyful atmosphere throughout the night.

They also took time to step away and soak it all in. “We snuck off to celebrate our ‘joint’ matrimony with a post-ceremony drink and snacks while we soaked in the moment and enjoyed the culmination of 2 years of planning.”

How One Chance Visit Led to the Perfect Venue

Venue hunting almost made the couple give up. With Ramiro’s family in Texas and Ashley based in Denver, location was a challenge. “We looked at a few venues in both states but nothing really checked both of our boxes at the same time,” Ashley explained. “We were about to give up and just elope when I went to a client’s wedding at our venue and fell in love with it.”

That venue was Blanc—an urban, industrial spot nestled in Denver’s arts district. It offered the perfect mix of modern architecture and a spacious courtyard, serving as a blank canvas for all their bright, bold ideas.

“Since the groom’s family was coming in from Texas, we organized a welcome dinner to get them acclimated to Denver’s altitude. Some of the family even drove up with a huge brisket to slow cook for everyone.”

Breaking Traditions Made Their DIY Denver Wedding More Meaningful

Ashley and Ramiro skipped a wedding party, walked down the aisle together, and even threw in a choreographed handshake before their first kiss as husband and wife.

Their ceremony—officiated by Ramiro’s dad—included a sweet sand ritual and began with one of the most epic entrances we’ve seen: Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise” playing instrumentally as guests looked around in delight.

Embracing the Power of DIY (and a Cricut)

Nearly every visual detail was created by the couple, their family, or close friends. From the invitations and centerpieces to handmade guest gifts, Ashley and Ramiro put their Cricut skills to work.

Their photo booth backdrop was made by Ashley’s mom–giant piñata letters that spelled out “Best Day Ever.” Ramiro created a personalized seating chart using rainbow bookmarks. Even their three dogs were included in a custom portrait, which showed up on everything from macarons to tattoos to signage.

“I wanted lots of color, glitter, bright and boldness everywhere,” Ashley said. And they delivered.

Why Letting Go of Control Was the Best Decision

Ashley and Ramiro thought they had everything mapped out, until the music changed. “We had a mariachi band! It was a complete surprise.” “Our moms worked with our planner to make it happen, and they serenaded us during dinner.” It was a heartfelt moment that added an extra layer of meaning to the night, blending their families and cultures in the most joyful way.

And just when guests thought things couldn’t get sweeter, out came the milk and cookies bar, another playful twist on tradition. “The wedding was completely us in every way,” said Ashley. “We had temporary tattoos of our faces, piñatas for the photo booth, milk and cookies for dessert. We even snuck off to celebrate our ‘joint’ matrimony.”

Despite all the planning and personal touches, the couple’s top priority was simply to be present. “Our biggest goal was to spend the night fully enjoying each moment with everyone, rather than feeling like we were busy hosting.” Thanks to a solid team, including a DJ who kept the dance floor packed, a planner who kept things on track, and a photographer who captured it all, they got exactly that. “We were able to be so present with our loved ones, and that meant everything.”

Advice from the Couple: Do It Your Way

It doesn’t get much more heartfelt–or vibrant–than Ashley and Ramiro’s DIY Denver wedding. Their advice to other couples? “Make this day yours, 100%. Play your favorite music, eat the food y’all love, and spend time with those y’all love the most.”

And one last tip? “Hire a vendor team you like and trust, and let them do their thing. Especially if you’re planning a nontraditional wedding–you want people who support your vision.”

When Taylor and Siegen started planning their wedding, they knew one thing for certain: the dress would be the star. Siegen’s stunning floral Rue de Seine wedding dress became the centerpiece of their nature-inspired celebration, shaping everything from the florals to the reception decor.  n

“It was challenging because Taylor didn’t want to see the dress until the wedding day,” shared Siegen. “He was super hands-off about the dress, but he ended up coordinating so many other details, like his suit, the flowers, and even the reception design.”

The couple’s vision came together perfectly, thanks in large part to the inspiration from the floral wedding gown. The color palette reflected the soft, breezy feeling of pre-autumn, with hues that perfectly complemented the gown’s romantic floral details. “I wanted something organic and nature-inspired, but Taylor wanted a more modern feel,” Siegen explained. “Somehow, it all clicked and ended up looking so cohesive.”

Their chosen venue, The Oaks, echoed that balance of nature and modernity. “The venue was just right—quaint garden vibes with luxury amenities,” Taylor said. “We looked at so many options, but this one was perfect for what we envisioned.”

Take a closer look at the meaningful moments from Taylor and Siegen’s wedding, captured beautifully by Junebug vendor McKenzie Bigliazzi Photography. These images bring their love story to life, showcasing the special details and unforgettable moments that made their day truly unique.

For Taylor, the moment Siegen walked down the aisle in her floral Rue de Seine wedding dress was something he would never forget. “Seeing Siegen in her dress was magical—just unforgettable,” he shared. “It’s a memory I’ll carry with me forever.”

Siegen felt the same way when she saw Taylor standing at the altar. “Seeing him in his suit and sharing our vows was everything,” Siegen said. “And the decor—it was amazing. We’re still getting compliments about it!” She also gave a special shout-out to KaraKara Blooms, the designer responsible for the stunning floral arrangements.

When it comes to their favorite wedding photos, both Taylor and Siegen had standout moments. Taylor’s favorite was a stunning shot of Siegen in her floral dress, framed by the flower arch and trees in the background. “That shot is just perfect,” he said.

Their photographer, McKenzie Bigliazzi, captured these unforgettable moments, and Siegen had nothing but praise. “McKenzie was incredible. Not only was she our photographer, but she also helped us plan everything. She was calm, patient, and just executed everything perfectly.”

While they originally set a $25,000 budget for their wedding, Taylor and Siegen ended up doubling that amount, spending over $50,000 to ensure everything was perfect. “We wanted this day to be unforgettable, so we didn’t hold back,” Siegen shared. “The florals, the food, the venue—all of those things were worth splurging on.”

“We kept our guest list smaller, which helped balance the cost,” Taylor added. “We stuck to close family and friends, which ended up reducing costs but allowed us to really focus on the things that mattered most.”

Create a whimsical wedding table aesthetic with moss, garden florals, and these glass hurricane candle holders.

And, of course, they had plenty of fun at the reception. “The photo booth was a hit with everyone,” Siegen said. “It was such a fun way to capture memories throughout the night.”

Despite their large splurge on decor and venue, Taylor and Siegen made sure to keep things personal and fun. They even created mini “Post-Wedding Weekend Recovery” kits for guests, anticipating a few sore heads the morning after. “We thought it might get a little wild, so we wanted to make sure our guests were taken care of!”

The couple also appreciated the support from their vendors. “Love, Emily Bakery was amazing. She stepped in at the last minute to cater the cake and desserts and was so easy to work with,” said Taylor. “Everything she made was delicious!”

The DJ also received high praise for his ability to time everything perfectly. “He kept the vibe exactly how we wanted it,” Siegen added.

Taylor and Siegen have some valuable tips for couples planning their own weddings. “Definitely plan to double—or even triple—your original budget,” Taylor said. “We started with $25,000 in mind but ended up spending around $50,000. And it still wasn’t quite enough!”

Siegen added, “And when it comes to the guest list, be clear about how many invites you’re sending. We only allowed one invitation per couple, not per person, which helped keep things intimate.”

Their final piece of advice? “Start thinking about your wedding songs and timing well in advance. It makes everything run smoother when you’ve planned ahead!”

In the end, Taylor and Siegen’s wedding was everything they imagined—a floral-filled celebration that perfectly balanced organic beauty with modern flair, all thanks to the inspiration from the floral Rue de Seine wedding dress.

When Lindsey and Caleb started planning their wedding, they wanted it to reflect their personalities and passions. They aimed for a vibe that mixed fun with timeless elegance, capturing the shift from summer to fall. The outcome was a Blanc wedding that perfectly celebrated their love and all that is special to them.

They kicked off their wedding day with things they love—Caleb went biking at North Table, and Lindsey had a cozy brunch with the women in her family. To fully enjoy the moment, they took a nostalgic stroll to their favorite bar, where they could just relax. They chose a former machinery factory for their wedding venue and transformed it into a stunning setting. Their outdoor ceremony featured a romantic petal-lined aisle leading to an altar flanked by lush floral pillars, while the reception gallery inside was adorned with rich, colorful arrangements that perfectly complemented the industrial space.

If you’re curious about how to bring your own style and interests into every part of your celebration for a unified and stylish look, you need to check out this wedding. The stunning photos by Junebug vendor Kate Merrill perfectly capture the heart of their love story and the beautiful day they created.

How They Merged Fun and Classic Styles To Create a Blanc Wedding Vibe That Reflected Them

Our vibe reflected who we are: fun, grateful, and classic. We combined a playful yet timeless style with the seasonal shift from summer to fall. Once we decided on this theme, we chose vendors who understood our vision. To stay within budget, we focused on key elements: flowers for me, a DJ for him, and a well-stocked bar for my parents.

A Day Filled with Personal Touches and Cherished Moments

We started our wedding day with activities we love—he biked at North Table, and I enjoyed brunch with the women in my family. Getting ready with my bridesmaids and family was extra special, especially since a friend did my hair and makeup. We took a nostalgic stroll to Don’s, our favorite bar, to relax and soak in the moment. Our friend officiated the ceremony, weaving in stories we shared about ourselves and from our friends. Instead of traditional vows, we made toasts over a table set with family china. Our first dance was a highlight, thanks to the dance lessons we took beforehand. A friend baked our delicious wedding cake, and I surprised my husband with a special song. We wrapped up the night dancing with friends and family, finishing with an energetic last song and a jump around before heading to Improper City for a final, relaxed evening.

Balancing Advice and Personal Happiness in Wedding Planning

Hire a planner, even if it’s just for part of the process. Choose vendors you like, and try not to stress too much. Focus on what matters to you as a couple rather than what others expect. Listen to advice from others, but prioritize your own happiness. While it’s important to consider others’ opinions, make decisions that best sustain your happiness and well-being, and stay true to those choices.

Celebrating Their Love and Commitment Beyond the Wedding

We’re most proud of having each other for life, which would have been true no matter the wedding, but the celebration definitely added a special touch to our love and commitment. Beyond that, flowers were incredibly important to me, and RLYRLY Studio created arrangements that exceeded my wildest dreams. We’re also proud of how great we looked on our big day.

DIY Wedding Details: From Paper Goods to Personal Touches

We handled all the paper goods ourselves, including save-the-dates, invitations, signage, coozie designs, and table numbers. A friend baked our cake, while another friend crafted framed pressed flowers for the seating chart.

When Margaret and Malachi began planning their wedding, they were set on having a celebration that lasted all night and reflected their personal style. They were fortunate to discover a venue that provided a perfect starting point for their vision. Using vibrant colors, lush flowers, and modern decor, they turned their SKYLIGHT wedding into the tropical paradise they had always dreamed of for their special day.

SKYLIGHT proved to be the ideal wedding venue for the couple due to its great location and versatile space. They took full advantage of its blank canvas appeal, adorning it with stunning floral pillars and a vibrant geometric backdrop for their ceremony altar, along with a lush greenery installation. Their creativity knew no bounds as they transformed the space for the reception, complete with wooden tables adorned with elegant centerpieces.

If you’ve ever wondered about infusing your individuality into every element of your celebration to establish a unified and stylish theme, then this wedding is a must-see. The stunning photos, skillfully captured by NJ Duncan Photography, genuinely encapsulate the essence of this pair’s love story and the remarkable day they curated.

How They Landed on a Tropical SKYLIGHT Wedding

We had gone to a wedding that went to the wee hours of the morning and thought it was so fun not to have to change locations for an after party. Our venue was a 24-hour rental, so we got to choose whatever end time we wanted, and it worked out great. We also loved the blank canvas that we got to decorate and that it was centrally located so guests could stay in Denver. We had been going to a ton of weddings of friends when we got engaged, so we started by just thinking about what we liked and didn’t like at those weddings. Eventually, we found our venue and met with our planner, who gave us amazing vendor recommendations. The style of our wedding is very much a style we love in our own lives, relatively simple with warm touches and a few showy statements.

Having a Close Friend Officiate and a Shared Journey Down the Aisle

We had a close friend officiate, someone who we were close to as our relationship started, so he could speak to how we have grown together. We also walked down the aisle together; we wanted that to symbolize that we were entering this marriage as partners. We wrote our own vows, which definitely made things feel more intimate and specific to us. Reading our vows to each other in front of all the people we love the most.

Balancing Act: Creating a Stunning Wedding with Guest Comfort in Mind

For couples beginning their wedding planning journey, here’s some advice. Firstly, think carefully about whether you want to include any traditions – remember, nothing is mandatory. Secondly, trust your vendors. They’re experts who are great at coming up with creative ideas. Lastly, we’re really proud that we managed to make our wedding look amazing while also making sure our guests felt comfortable and cared for.

When a bunch of wedding vendors who absolutely love Taylor Swift join forces, something magical takes place—a Colorado elopement inspiration shoot inspired by the vibes of 1989. And we can’t get enough of it! Creating this styled shoot was a true labor of love, and we’re completely hooked. Every person involved is a huge fan, making it feel natural to bring their Swiftie passion from their hearts into a photo studio.

Since Taylor Swift herself can’t quite decide if 1989 is more of a beach or city album, our talented team embraced both vibes. The industrial studio and courthouse evoked the original NYC aesthetic, while the florist and stationer infused a touch of the beach into their designs. The ceremony space featured a round arch adorned with folded paper planes and grounded arrangements of florals, greenery, and pampas. Moving to the intimate reception table for two, it showcased sand-colored linen, delicate blooms, and candles, all against the backdrop of the same arch. The result? A perfect blend of city chic and beach elegance.

The beauty looks for this inspired shoot were carefully curated, ranging from the “classic red lip thing that you like” to the “long hair slicked back,” serving as their hair and makeup muse. And that’s not all. There are even more details that will leave you in awe. Calling all Swifties, you absolutely need to check this out! Why a 1989-Inspired Colorado Elopement Inspiration

This shoot was the result of a group of Swiftie wedding vendors challenging ourselves to see how many 1989 (Taylor’s version) lyrical references we could include in a styled shoot, keeping it subtle enough for the casual observer to see it as “just” a city elopement while leaving easter eggs that any true fan will obsess over and find ways to incorporate into their own wedding planning. From the seagulls and paper airplanes used in the stationery and decor to using lyrics for posing cues like “just take my hand and don’t ever drop it” or “you stand with your hand on my waistline,” we had a blast putting this all together—and we think any Swifties planning their wedding would love it, too.

Julie and Zane turned their log house in the mountain forest into a magical wonderland for their wedding. Embracing their love for Burning Man’s whimsical and enchanting atmosphere, they chose the fitting theme of “Funky Forest” for their special day right in their own backyard. The guests added to the charm with their whimsical attire, while the handmade animal sculptures and surprise llama visitors made the Colorado backyard wedding truly one-of-a-kind.

The couple turned the forest into a magical venue space with rainbow arches, a floating umbrella installation, and a serpentine tablescape adorned with shimmering iridescent confetti. As the sun set, the evening came alive with a spectacular light show illuminating the dance floor, where guests joined the pair, dancing the night away.

Curious to witness the magical transformation of Burning Man vibes into a wedding wonderland? Don’t miss out on how Julie and Zane turned their passion into a celebration. Thanks to From the Daisies, every funky detail has been beautifully captured for all of us to savor. Keep scrolling for a visual feast of whimsy and joy!

Festival-Inspired Fashion and Makeup

My good friend from college made my dress and glitter cape. She studied fashion and is also a Burner. She has made countless costumes for me in the past (even matching a couple’s outfits for Zane and me) and really understood the assignment. Beauty-wise, I was decisive about needing glitter and rhinestones. Our wedding planner again found a burner-esque makeup artist who understood the assignment. Everyone had glitter and rhinestones, including all the dads, brothers, etc. It was magical.

How Burning Man Inspired Their Colorado Backyard Wedding

We live in a log house in a beautiful woodsy forest on the mountains. So we went with the theme “Funky Forest” and had the wedding at our home. We are longtime Burners (people who attend Burning Man) and wanted to bring that whimsical and magical feel to our event. From the guests’ whimsical formal attire to our crafted animal sculptures to our llama visitors, the wedding was everything we hoped for and more! We are also makers. I’m a designer, and my husband is a software engineer, and together, we brought the art pieces to life.

A Funky Forest Wedding Extravaganza That Was Interactive For Their Guests

Every guest received a jackalope, bear, or fox badge specially programmed with their name. As they approached the corresponding animal sculpture, a unique and interactive experience awaited them. For example, when Guest 1 approached the giant bear, it playfully blew bubbles and bathed in a radiant purple glow. Guest 2 encountered the fox, setting off the fog machine and casting a warm yellow glow. Guest 3 discovered the jackalope nestled in the disco ball forest, treating them to a delightful serenade amid a soothing blue light. The brilliance of the LED lights on the animal sculptures responded to the colors on the guests’ badges. Amidst these enchanting interactions, the celebration featured a variety of activities, including decorating sparkly crocs in a dazzling dome with handmade charms, engaging in an audio guest book experience within a greenhouse adorned in rainbow reflecting film, trying their hand at ax throwing, participating in a giant moose color-by-numbers station, and exploring a family art gallery. The highlight was witnessing the joy brought by Bubble Bear, a gigantic 3D-printed sculpture of a bear that blew bubbles overhead.

Wedding Advice: Embrace the Uniqueness of Your Day

Do whatever you want. It’s your day. I often wanted to ask other people, “Is this normal?” or “Is this crazy?” to try and tone our ideas into a socially “acceptable'” shape. We aren’t normal. And we are crazy. So I’m glad at some point, we just let the wedding be super funky and creative regardless of worries of outside judgment. Our guests followed us down that path once we were confident, too. My dad walked me down the aisle with rhinestones on his face. It was everything.

The Artistic Afterlife of Their Colorado Backyard Wedding Creations

Our gigantic bubble bear and Foggy Fox sculptures now live in Spectra’s immersive gallery in Denver for everyone to enjoy! Making these more extensive interactive installations lit a spark for us. Now we spend much of our time thinking of new art pieces to build for various events. We had this fantastic fabrication/artist company called Dark Moon Designs (another impeccable find by our planner) build a multi-piece giant rainbow flower portal through the forest to walk to the ceremony spot. It now lives in our backyard forever. We see it out our bedroom window when we wake up, and nothing makes us happier.

Cost-Effective Thrifted Treasures

Since our wedding was at our house, we were able to cut spending on furniture rentals. We bought all these cute vintage chairs and couches on Facebook Marketplace or from thrift stores on the cheap rather than renting. Furniture rentals get super pricey super fast. We have done a lot of remodeling to our home to make it unique, so it’s very special to us. We have a giant circle window, a geodome, and a greenhouse all in the forest. It also allowed us the time and space to set up the sculptures and other activities. You only have 24 hours in most venues, so you can’t decorate to the extent we did.

Glitter Crocs, Furry Geo Dome, and DIY Touches at Their Colorado Backyard Wedding

We gave everyone glitter Crocs. They have become a staple to us here in Colorado. And what’s fun about Crocs is you can decorate them to be your own. We had disco balls, pom poms, laser-cut bananas, happy faces, and various charms for people to have a little craft project while relaxing in the geodome. Did I mention we covered the inside of our geodome walls with fur? The invites, save the dates, thank you cards, and all the signage we designed and made. I’m a graphic designer, so we had a specific look I was trying to achieve.

Linh and Chris decided to tie the knot on the slopes. This adventurous decision was inspired by their shared love for skiing during their early dating days. Aspen, where their first adventure unfolded, was the natural choice. With the help of their vendor team, the enchantment of their Little Nell wedding was taken to new heights with florals that transformed the celebration into something truly exceptional.

The couple instantly fell in love with the idea of a mountaintop ceremony at 11,212 feet, surrounded by the scenic beauty of trees, puffy clouds, snow-capped mountains, a gentle breeze, and the soothing sound of rustling leaves. Walking down the aisle on that mountain was a dream come true for the pair, with the path adorned with flowers leading to an arch that framed the mountains. They switched things up with the reception but kept the enchantment alive with hanging glass baubles, adding a special touch to the elegant tablescape of beautiful, low, lush blooms.

If you’re into elegant mountain celebrations and dreamy floral wonderlands, you definitely don’t want to miss this. Beautifully captured by Laura Murray, the whole story is waiting for you—just keep scrolling!

Bringing Their Little Nell Wedding Vision to Life With the Help of Trusted Vendors

In terms of style, vibe, and design, I wanted something elegant, modern, and romantic. I was drawn to the color pale blue at that time. From there, I worked with our planner, photographer, and floral designer to develop the complete design. They proposed some inspirational designs, and I made the final decision. I put my trust in my team, and they were able to put together a final product that fit our personalities and vision as a couple.

A Majestic Moment: Saying “I Do” at 11,212 Feet

The day’s most memorable part was the wedding ceremony at the top of Aspen Mountain at 11,212 feet above sea level. The view from walking down the aisle on that mountaintop was just spectacular—the backdrop with the trees, the puffy clouds, the snow-capped mountain, the breeze, and the sound of the rustling leaves was so surreal and majestic. I remember my wedding planner reminding me to take in the moment I get down to the end of the aisle, which was super helpful!

Embracing Their Vision with Their Trusted Wedding Team

Our advice: After saying yes to the engagement ring, begin interviewing wedding planners and photographers. Work with the A team, mainly focusing on these top three teams: the planner, the photographer, and the floral designer. It’s crucial to establish chemistry with all of them because they are the ones who bring your vision to life and provide inspiration where needed. Don’t compromise on quality when it comes to people. Second, have a clear opinion on your vision, but be flexible and leverage the team’s expertise and style. The bonus of all collaboration is that they become your friends after your wedding because, in my case, they are such incredible women! Another tip I’d offer is to involve your future spouse in planning, even if they say you can pick everything! And lastly, it’s all about location, location, location.

Elevating Their Little Nell Wedding Through Floral Design and the Wedding Menu

The floral design and reception menu were most important to me. Flower design elevates any space because it provides visual and feeling effects. The quality of food is essential to me. I live to eat and not eat to live. I wanted my wedding guests to remember the dining experience and not just the ceremony.

The Wedding Team:

Photography – Laura Murray
Event Planning – Mountain Occasions
Ceremony + Reception Venue + Catering – The Little Nell
Floral Design – Liz Griffith
Cake – Coppelia Cake Design
Officiant – Jill Pidcock
DJ – DJ Naka G
Invitation Design – Sweet Zion
Makeup Artist – Carrie Stockert
Hair Styling – Becca Ciaffone
Wedding Dress – Ivory Bridal Atelier
Groom’s Apparel – Suit Supply
Day of Paperie – Maya and Love

Congratulations to Linh and Chris on their Little Nell wedding. And a big thank you to Laura Murray for capturing all the stunning details—from the pastel ceremony florals to the gold reception accents—that made this celebration for the books.

Florals work magic at weddings, enhancing every beautiful moment, just like in this Aspen celebration. And if you’re dreaming of a big day where florals steal the show, dive into our wedding flower checklist to make sure no detail is missed during your planning journey.
