The leaves are changing, the air is getting crisp, and invitations have flooded your mailbox. This can only mean one thing: fall wedding season is here! If you’ve been invited to an autumn celebration, it’s the perfect time to elevate your wedding attire. Luckily, shopping for fall wedding guest dresses is a breeze. You get to play around with warm color palettes, fun patterns, and a variety of different fabric materials.

So, if you’ve got a fall wedding or two on your calendar this year and still haven’t chosen an outfit, don’t worry. We’ve rounded up some stylish fall wedding guest dresses you can easily buy online, so you’ll look fashionable and wedding-ready in no time.

Before diving into fashion inspiration, here are a few tips for selecting the perfect fall wedding guest dress:

  • Our first and most important piece of advice––wear something you feel good in. You deserve to feel both comfortable and confident!
  • When selecting your outfit, keep the wedding location in mind. For example, if it’s outdoors, opt for warmer fabrics and layers. For indoor venues, choose elegant fabrics like satin or velvet.
  • Stick with a color palette that complements the wedding theme and season. For fall weddings, consider autumn hues like burgundy, deep greens, or earthy tones.
  • Don’t be afraid to play around with different warmer fabrics like velvet, wool, or tweed.

The options are endless when it comes to finding the perfect wedding guest outfit. By keeping these tips in mind during your shopping experience, you’ll be sure to find an outfit that is stylish, comfortable, and perfect for the fall season.

Junebug Favorite Fall Wedding Guest Dresses

Harvest Hues

If you really want to lean into the autumn season, you can’t get closer to the feeling of fall than with harvest-inspired shades. Think burnt orange, terracotta, mustard yellow, and marigold—colors that instantly evoke crisp leaves and golden sunsets. Burnt orange and rust, in particular, are everywhere in fall fashion right now, and they translate beautifully into wedding guest attire. These tones shine in a variety of fabrics, from luxe velvet to sleek satin to playful printed patterns, making them a versatile yet statement-making choice for any fall celebration.

Jewel Tones

Jewel tones are a timeless fall favorite because they flatter just about everyone—no matter your skin tone, hair color, or body type. Rich shades like emerald, sapphire, amethyst, and ruby bring depth and elegance to any wedding setting. They’re also a reliable choice if the invitation doesn’t spell out a dress code, since jewel tones strike the perfect balance between festive and sophisticated. Whether you’re headed to a black-tie celebration or a cozy backyard party, you can’t go wrong with a gem-inspired hue.

Earthy Neutrals

Earthy neutrals are another effortless option for fall–these are your warm browns, sandy tans, olive greens, and muted sage. Brown especially is having a major fashion moment, with plenty of trendy yet timeless dresses available in this rich hue. These tones feel grounded and versatile, making them easy to style with everything from understated gold jewelry to bold statement accessories. Whether you prefer something sleek and modern or flowing and romantic, earthy neutrals bring a polished ease to fall wedding dressing.

Dark Romance

Dark romance never goes out of style, and fall is the perfect season to embrace it. Black, navy, and burgundy are the ultimate colors for black-tie weddings, bringing an air of elegance and sophistication. But these shades aren’t limited to formal celebrations—they transition seamlessly into more casual looks when paired with modern details like low backs, pleats, or cutouts. Whether you’re aiming for timeless glamour or a subtly sultry edge, dark romance hues deliver a dramatic yet versatile option for fall wedding guest style.

Golden Hour Metallics

Golden hour metallics bring instant glamour to any fall wedding. Shades of copper, gold, and champagne sparkle beautifully under candlelight or twinkling string lights, making them especially perfect for evening celebrations. Whether you choose a fully sequined gown, a silky gold slip dress, or a metallic-accented print, these luminous tones guarantee you’ll stand out in the most elegant way.

From Reformation to AW Bridal, we’ve scoured the internet for the best fall wedding guest dresses. Do you also have a winter wedding on the schedule? Make sure to check out our roundup of favorite winter wedding guest dresses too.

Some love stories take years to unfold. Others begin with a swipe and a spark. For Chloe and Haley, it started during the thick of 2020. Texting through lockdowns, followed by a first date at a coffee shop in Haley’s hometown. “We finished our coffees and talked until the streetlights came on,” they shared. Just two weeks later, they were officially a couple. Different in many ways but open from the beginning, they found in each other a love rooted in honesty, vulnerability, and shared joy.

When it came time to plan their Alabama wedding, they knew they wanted it to feel like home. “We really leaned into the ‘vibe’ aspect of things. We wanted something classic, easy, and beautiful. We also wanted our guests to feel relaxed and able to enjoy themselves.” The result was a heartfelt, down-to-earth celebration that honored not just their relationship but also the Florence, Alabama community that shaped them.

What We Love About This Alabama Wedding:

Why a Flexible Venue Was Key to Pulling Off Their Celebration

For their Alabama wedding venue, the couple chose Pickett Place, a historic home with plenty of personality and space. It offered the perfect mix of character and functionality– especially when it came to last-minute rain plans.

“Because of the rain, our venue had to flip the ceremony space in an hour into our reception dinner,” Chloe shared. “It was honestly magical to walk into the room again and see it transformed into a completely different vibe.” Even with the weather curveball, every space, from photo nooks to dance floors, felt intentionally used.

They kicked off the wedding weekend with a laid-back yet memorable rehearsal at the GunRunner Hotel: cocktails, appetizers, and karaoke that lasted late into the night. “We loved staying there in the past, and knew it was essential for setting the tone of the weekend.”

Bringing Personality Into Their Wedding Fashion

Haley’s wedding look was a standout moment. “She knew she wanted a suit that celebrated her androgynous style. Something bridal but a little Elvis, a little Brandi Carlile,” Chloe explained. She found it in a perfectly tailored Cinq à Sept suit.

Chloe, meanwhile, didn’t start with a vision for a dress, but her mom found the one: a classic and minimal design from Estee’ Couture Bridal at Birch on Main.

Bridesmaids were invited to express themselves in spring greens, blues, florals, and textured styles, resulting in an effortlessly coordinated look. Hair and makeup by Paris Jackson and Audrie Klavas Beauty rounded out the aesthetic, creating a comfortable and radiant vibe for everyone.

A Rainy First Look That Set the Tone

Before the ceremony, Chloe and Haley shared a private first look on the front steps of Pickett Place under a soft rain. “We were on the fence about a first look, but now we look back on it as one of our favorite moments from the day,” they said. “Milly did a great job of really making this time private between the two of us, while still capturing such a special moment.”

Making the Ceremony Personal With Poetry and Tradition

The indoor ceremony space was transformed into a romantic floral setting, with white hydrangeas and greenery framing a brick fireplace. Surrounded by family and friends, Chloe and Haley exchanged vows in a ceremony led by a close friend.

“We wanted our ceremony to feel reverent, full of love, and true to us.” It opened with a ring-warming ritual and included a surprise poem, Her, Her, Her by Caitlyn Siehl, chosen by Haley and read aloud. A special detail: their mothers handed them the rings, a meaningful gesture that tied the ceremony back to family.

Celebrating Community Through Their Vendor Team

From the start, Chloe and Haley prioritized working with vendors who felt like part of their story, people from Florence who brought their own artistry and heart to the day. “Above the aesthetics of our wedding, we really wanted to pull from all of the reasons we love Florence.” That meant keeping it local, starting with their photographer Junebug vendor Milly Baine of The Rose Reflective.

“Not only is she incredible at what she does, she went above and beyond to help make our day what it was and preserve the feeling of our wedding.” Their engagement session with Milly months prior helped them feel comfortable and confident going into the big day.

They also discovered other LGBTQ-friendlyvendors through a resource on Milly’s site—like their second shooter, Scotty Simpkins Photo, and farm-to-table caterer Odette, one of their go-to spots for birthdays and anniversaries. “They couldn’t have been more of a joy to work with. Especially Brittany Bullion who was always available to answer questions and coordinated details we never would have thought of.”

Florals by Susan Rowe of Flori Design Co. reflected the couple’s love for natural elegance. White hydrangeas, found often in their home, served as the floral anchor. “She even brought in flowers from her own garden, which we loved.”

Ending the Day With Meaning, Music, and Connection

After the ceremony, Chloe and Haley stepped away for a quick moment of peace. “We highly recommend it. We needed a moment to look at each other and say ‘wow, we did it!’” Guests moved into a reception space that was transformed with candlelight, fresh greenery, and local blooms cascading across tabletops and the sweetheart table. The color palette of soft greens and whites kept the vibe airy and welcoming.

Handmade touches, like a welcome sign by a family friend and all the printed materials designed by Haley’s sister, added meaning throughout. After a delicious meal and moving speeches, Haley sabred champagne to kick off the dancing. Their first dance to Brandi Carlile’s I Belong to You wrapped the night in romance.

And of course, they didn’t stop there. Guests returned to the GunRunner for a cozy afterparty, ending the Alabama wedding weekend exactly how Chloe and Haley imagined it: relaxed, joyful, and full of love.

Lessons Learned From a Rainy-Day Alabama Wedding

Rain plans matter. “Unless your wedding is in the middle of the desert, have a rain plan and talk about it with all of your vendors beforehand.”

Make space for connection. “Above all else, make time to have little moments alone with your new spouse. We remember those the most out of the night.”

Do the first look. “You won’t regret it.”

If you’re dreaming of a wedding that blends epic natural landscapes with personal, off-the-beaten-path moments, Faith and Zach’s Seward, Alaska elopement will speak straight to your adventurous heart. The couple, both locals to Anchorage, knew from the beginning that they wanted to escape to Seward—one of their favorite places to visit with their dogs—for a celebration that felt relaxed, remote, and fully immersed in nature. What followed was a wedding day filled with custom touches, lush forested ceremony views, and a private boat cruise through Resurrection Inlet, complete with a waterfall stop and a champagne toast.

Photographer Rose of Matlai Photography, who also helped guide the couple through the planning process, described them as “definitely down for an adventure.” The entire day was designed to be easygoing and organic, with little stress and plenty of space to enjoy Alaska’s beauty. This is the kind of wedding that proves elopements can be both adventurous and stylish—especially when paired with an embroidered velvet suit and a just-for-fun stop at a mid-century modern bar.

Why We Love This Seward, Alaska Elopement

  • A remote ceremony site that felt like a hidden rainforest retreat
  • A personalized boat cruise with a private charter and waterfall visit
  • Two beloved dogs included throughout the day
  • The perfect post-ceremony picnic for two
  • A low-key but high-impact post-ceremony cocktail stop in Seward

A Celebration Designed Around the Wild Alaskan Landscape

From the start, Seward was the obvious choice. “They knew they wanted to get out on the peninsula somehow to celebrate their wedding,” Rose explained. “We ended up booking Miller’s Landing for a half-day boat cruise, which just amped up the level of excitement.”

Planning the day came naturally, thanks to Rose’s familiarity with the area. “I’ve worked there for several years, so I have lots of recommendations on where to go, what to see, and the inside scoop,” she said. One of those ideas included a forest picnic—a cozy and delicious interlude before boarding the boat for an epic cruise through the fjords.

The boat itself became a highlight of the day. “We hired a private charter for the return trip, and it was so cool to stop at a waterfall and have the whole boat to ourselves in Resurrection Inlet. It’s just incredible to be out there on the water with these massive mountains all around you!”

Thoughtful Styling Meets Alaskan Adventure

Just because the couple eloped didn’t mean they held back on style. “Zach rocked an incredible green velvet suit with embroidered inside pockets. It was stunning!” Rose shared. He even added a braided hair detail thanks to Girdwood-based stylist Lana Anderson, who helped complete the look.

Faith opted for a vintage-inspired wedding dress that brought a soft, classic elegance to the rugged landscape. “The contrast was fantastic,” Rose said. “It was also a reminder that when you elope, you really can wear whatever you want!”

A First Look by the Water, and a Ceremony in the Forest

The day started with a sweet first look on the water’s edge in front of a wooden cabin. “Faith walked down the steps, their two dogs circling Zach below, and he turned around to see her. So cute!”

The ceremony itself felt like something out of a fairytale. “It looked like we were deep in the rainforest somewhere,” Rose said. “Despite being on the Alaskan coastline, it felt immense, private, super green, and very peaceful.” That sense of stillness—surrounded by trees and softened by mossy ground—created a deeply intimate atmosphere that perfectly reflected the couple’s love.

From Waterfalls to Cocktails

After saying “I do” and exploring the inlet by boat, Faith and Zach headed to The Flamingo, a newly revamped cocktail bar in downtown Seward. “Despite looking like a mid-mod dive bar on the outside, it has a tremendous menu and brings a total flair to the area,” said Rose. It was a fun, unfussy way to cap off a day full of meaning, movement, and joy.

Eloping Means Doing It Your Way

If Faith and Zach’s Seward, Alaska elopement proves anything, it’s that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to getting married. You don’t need a sea of florals, an officiant, or even an aisle unless that’s what you want. An intimate forest ceremony, a boat tour with your dogs, and a final stop at a cool local bar? That’s just as meaningful—and wildly romantic—as any traditional celebration.

Eloping is your chance to strip away everything unnecessary and focus on what matters most: the two of you, your love, and the new adventure you’re creating together.

When it came to planning their Korean wedding, Jinnie and Andrew set out to design a day that honored their roots while celebrating their shared present. With a deep sense of intention and love for both tradition and individuality, the couple seamlessly blended a Korean paebaek ceremony with a modern New York City aesthetic. Held at the minimalist Atmosfera, their wedding was an expression of culture, artistry, and connection—brought to life with the help of their community.

What We Love About This Korean Wedding:

  • The couple’s traditional Korean wedding attire (hanboks) and emotional paebaek ceremony
  • A sleek and stylish modern portrait session around New York City landmarks
  • The intentional use of color—green and aubergine—and organic textures throughout the decor
  • DIY details, from music and florals to table settings and video elements
  • The heartfelt moment where the groom carried the bride on his back, symbolizing their first steps as one

Blending Cultures With Meaning and Style

Jinnie and Andrew wanted their Korean wedding to be more than just beautiful. It had to reflect their story. “We started planning with a desire to pay homage to the tradition of Korean culture while incorporating the contemporary and eclectic elements of our personalities,” they shared.

Their chosen venue, Atmosfera, served as the perfect blank canvas. Its clean, all-white interior became the backdrop for a day painted with emotion, tradition, and stylish contrast. “Our friend’s love and efforts were the paint that made the canvas into art.”

Wedding Fashion That Celebrated Heritage and Modernity

The couple’s outfits told their story visually, starting with the vibrant hanboks worn during the paebaek ceremony—a Korean wedding ritual that honors elders and family. “One of the most meaningful moments was when I carried Jinnie on my back in our hanboks and walked around the stage in front of our loved ones. It symbolized our first formal steps together as one.”

Later, for their modern NYC photo session, they switched into sleek outfits that matched the urban backdrop. Jinnie had her own fashion moment, wearing  three incredibly chic looks throughout the shoot–each paired with her Reformation Wilson Bow mule heels (more on that later.)

Making the Day Their Own With DIY Touches

Jinnie and Andrew poured themselves into the details. “We nearly exclusively incorporated bespoke DIY elements to our wedding—from art pieces to videos, music, florals, and table settings. Our personalities were infused in everything.”

They leaned on their community to help bring their vision to life. “We knew we needed to lean on our friends and their understanding of our journey. We trusted our community implicitly.” Even with a few last-minute vendor delays and family-related stress, their loved ones stepped in and kept the day on track.

Couple Portraits Around NYC

For portraits by Jane’s Carousel at Brooklyn Bridge Park, Jinnie sported an Aje Ursula midi dress with sheer embellished, white gloves. She followed it with the elegant, off-the-shoulder Samara dress by Line & Dot, styled with white flower earrings that perfectly complemented the park’s cherry blossoms. Her final look–also worn for the reception–was Marjorelle’s striking and sleek black and white Avori gown.

Wedding Day Advice From the Couple

Reflecting on the day, the couple emphasized how important it was to stay grounded in the “why” of the celebration. “Plan your wedding always keeping in mind who the wedding is for. Don’t let the small stuff—logistics, stress, or expectations—detract from the joy of celebrating your love.”

Their only wish? “More time to dance and properly let loose with our friends and family!”

Photo sessions are one of the most exciting parts of being engaged. From booking a photographer you love to picking out your outfit, there’s so much creative potential—and we’re here to make sure you’re fully prepared.

We’ve pulled inspiration from some favorite summer engagement photos and turned them into curated outfit ideas for every kind of couple. Whether you’re headed to the beach, wandering through the city, or chasing the sunset in a park, we’ve got you covered.

First, a few quick tips on what to wear for summer engagement photos:

  • Think light, breathable fabrics –Linen, seersucker, and soft cotton blends are your best friends
  • Coordinate without matching – Complement each other’s colors and patterns instead of going too matchy-matchy
  • Don’t shy away from color – Brights, pastels, and summery prints—like stripes or polka dots—can make your photos pop, especially in outdoor or urban settings
  • Movement matters – Flowy fabrics, playful silhouettes, and pieces with volume photograph beautifully
  • Confidence is key – At the end of the day, the best outfit is the one that makes you feel like you

Ready to get inspired? These summer engagement photo outfit ideas blend timeless style with contemporary trends—and can be adapted for just about any location or personal style.

Outfit Ideas for Your Summer Engagement Photos

Elevated Casual on the Beach

summer beach engagement

The beach gives you permission to keep things breezy—literally and stylistically. Enter the bubble hem dress, the silhouette of the summer. Its playful volume brings movement to your photos, especially with a bit of wind in the mix.

If you’re leaning into smart casual, consider an unbuttoned linen shirt worn open over a tank or tee for a relaxed feel that still looks polished. Bare feet, tousled hair, and flowy fabrics? Yes, please.

Cocktail Attire at Sunset

Want to level up the dress code without overheating? Start with a neutral suit—it’s an instant summer upgrade. From soft beige to warm taupe, these lighter tones reflect the heat and feel less formal, even when tailored.

Under the suit jacket, try a breathable statement shirt—think linen, open-weave cotton, or even a crochet top. It adds subtle texture and interest (read: not just a basic button-up) and gives you the option for jacket-on or jacket-off shots.

Let the Location Set the Tone

There’s no rule that says engagement photos have to be neutral. If you’re in a city like San Miguel de Allende or Palm Springs—or anywhere with vibrant architecture and rich textures—lean into the palette.

Jewel tones, citrus hues, or soft pastels can enhance the colors around you instead of competing with them. You don’t need to match each other, either. Pick a general color family or complementary shades for a cohesive-but-effortless effect. Also, don’t skip on matching sets!

Effortlessly Polished in the City

Cities call for elevated streetwear with edge. Think structured separates, polished layers, and statement accessories. A tailored midi dress with bold earrings, or trousers paired with a relaxed button-down, can strike the perfect balance.

Don’t forget about your shoes—cities are made for walking, and the right pair (stylish and comfortable) can tie the whole look together.

Playful Looks for Laid-Back Moments

If your idea of the perfect engagement session involves splashing in the surf, rolling in the grass, or dancing barefoot on the beach, your outfits should match that energy. Think breathable fabrics, playful prints like stripes or checks, and silhouettes that move with you. Swimsuits can work too—especially when layered with a breezy button-down or linen set.

We’re especially fond of coordinated (but not identical) looks—like matching striped linens in complementary colors. It keeps things cohesive without feeling too curated.

Summer is the perfect season to experiment with style, color, and personality. Your engagement photos are more than just a photo op—they’re a celebration of your story. Choose pieces that feel true to you, move easily, and keep you cool while looking amazing. Up next, we’ve rounded up the best themes for your engagement party

Plus, you can’t forget about those stunning fashion trends. We’re talking about pastels, patterns, and lightweight fabrics made to hit the dancefloor. After you’ve decided on a color palette and secured your aisle-worthy dress, it’s time to get your wedding crew sorted.

Whether you’re envisioning mismatched bridesmaid dresses or a cohesive neutral look for your wedding party, we’ve rounded up our favorite spring bridesmaid dresses fit for every color palette.

Where to Shop for Spring Bridesmaid Dresses?

There are a variety of companies that allow you to shop from the comfort of your own couch. There are stores that have every color, texture, and pattern you can think of when it comes to spring weddings. Here are a few of our favorites that make sure your wedding crew looks and feels like a million bucks.

Bridesmaid Dresses For Every Wedding Color Palette

Pink Bridesmaid Dresses

Pink is about as timeless as it gets when it comes to spring bridesmaid dresses. Whether you lean toward blush, rose, mauve, peach, or soft baby pink, there’s a shade to suit every style of celebration. We’re especially drawn to tiered or textured fabrics, which add subtle dimension and keep things interesting. And if you want to mix in a print, a delicate pink floral is always a fresh, pretty choice.

Green Bridesmaid Dresses

Green has been steadily rising in popularity for bridesmaid dresses—and it’s easy to see why. Sage, in particular, is a flattering choice on nearly every skin tone and pairs effortlessly with nature-inspired or garden-style weddings. Other shades like olive and mint are equally gorgeous for spring, bringing a soft, organic feel without ever looking too bold or stark.

Yellow Bridesmaid Dresses

We’re officially in the era of butter yellow. This soft, sunny shade is everywhere in fashion right now—and it’s not going anywhere soon. Cheerful and a little unexpected, it’s bright without being overpowering and works surprisingly well as a near-neutral, playing nicely with just about any color palette. For an extra-elevated look, consider butter yellow in silk or satin for that luminous finish.

Blue Bridesmaid Dresses

Soft, calming, and endlessly versatile, blue bridesmaid dresses are always a beautiful choice. While it’s not the most obvious spring color, that’s part of its appeal—perfect if you want a look that feels seasonally fresh without leaning too hard into a spring theme. Whether you go for sleek column silhouettes or flowing floor-length chiffon, blue suits a wide range of styles and looks good on everyone.

Neutral Bridesmaid Dresses

If you’re leaning toward something classic and understated, neutral tones are always a chic choice. Think champagne, taupe, ivory, or even brown. Brown, much like butter yellow, has been steadily gaining popularity—offering a sleek, modern, and unexpectedly elegant option that works beautifully in any setting.

The fun wedding fashion isn’t the only thing we love about spring celebrations. This time of year brings a whole lot of fresh ideas couples can use to mix it up, planning a truly unlike-any-other wedding. From custom cocktail inspiration to wedding favor ideas, kickstart your planning journey by checking out these refreshing spring wedding ideas.
