When two adventurous souls fall in love, it’s only fitting that their wedding takes place somewhere extraordinary. For Caroline and Daniel, that meant saying their vows inside a glittering blue glacier during their ice cave wedding in Iceland. What began as a quiet connection in Oxford during lockdown turned into an epic celebration of love, courage, and togetherness against one of the world’s most dramatic backdrops.

Their love story started simply—two Master’s students navigating pandemic life, meeting through Tinder because “that was the only way to do it at the time.” For months, their dates were walks through Port Meadow Park, always distanced and proper. “Caroline wouldn’t even let us hold hands at first! It was all very Victorian,” Daniel said. But through those walks, they built something steady and real, which later inspired a wedding that was intimate, personal, and rooted in authenticity.

What We Love About This Ice Cave Wedding

  • An unforgettable ice cave ceremony surrounded by glaciers
  • A private vow exchange followed by a black sand beach celebration in Vik
  • Caroline climbing an ice wall (in her wedding dress!) with crampons and an ice pick
  • Glacial-inspired details like translucent vases that mimicked ice
  • A design that perfectly reflected their adventurous, unconventional personalities

How the Idea of an Exotic Elopement Became Reality

After a winter engagement at Blenheim Palace—on the same spot where Winston Churchill proposed to his wife—Caroline and Daniel found themselves drawn to the idea of a small winter wedding abroad. “We fell in love with the idea of a small, exotic location,” they said. “Once we saw photos of Icelandic weddings online, we knew we had to make it happen before all the best ice caves melted away.”

They planned most of their big day themselves, leaning on the advice of local professionals familiar with Iceland’s unpredictable terrain. The result was a day that combined spontaneity with serenity. Their vow exchange took place deep inside a cave carved by nature, with blue ice walls surrounding them like crystal cathedrals.

A Ceremony as Adventurous as Their Love Story

Their private ring exchange and vow ceremony inside the cave felt surreal. Caroline even strapped on crampons and picked up an ice axe to climb an ice wall after the ceremony, still in her wedding dress. “It was quite a sight to see,” Daniel recalled. The moment captured everything about who they are: daring, lighthearted, and willing to go beyond the ordinary for each other.

Afterward, they celebrated with a more public ceremony on the black sand beach of Vik. The landscape’s striking contrast of dark sand and icy blue tones was a sight to remember.

Turning Their Vision into a Personal Experience

From the start, Caroline and Daniel wanted their wedding to be a reflection of their personalities—simple, wild, and meaningful. “It was a very small and cozy affair,” they shared. “That’s exactly who we are: adventurous and unconventional.” Even their decor followed the theme, with flower vases resembling glacial ice and muted winter tones that echoed the landscape around them. Every decision, from the location to the color palette, came back to what mattered most: crafting a day that felt like them.

Advice for Couples Dreaming of Their Own Ice Cave Wedding

For couples thinking about an ice cave wedding, Caroline and Daniel’s biggest piece of advice is to stay flexible. “The weather can change in an instant, and that’s part of the beauty of it. Lean into the unpredictability and focus on the experience.”

They also recommend working with local experts familiar with Iceland’s conditions. “They know the safest spots and how to navigate the ice. Having that local insight made everything so much smoother.”

Laura and Troy’s Queenstown wedding wasn’t just a single day, it unfolded over five unforgettable ones. The couple turned their destination celebration into a weeklong gathering of love, laughter, and shared memories with their closest people. From mountain views and cozy autumn colors to pizza nights and golf outings, every moment reflected who they are: joyful, grounded, and completely in love.

They first connected with Junebug vendor Shaken & Stirred Weddings, who served as both planner and photographer, during a video call that perfectly captured their energy. “They were stuck in traffic, their Great Dane, Klaus, curled up in the backseat,” they recalled. “From that first call, we knew we were the right fit. Their focus was on celebrating with their people, not just creating a pretty day.”

What We Love About This Queenstown Wedding

  • A five-day celebration that made every guest part of the story
  • A full vegan menu that surprised and delighted
  • Romantic autumn tones inspired by Queenstown’s landscape
  • Heartfelt speeches and a golden-hour first-dance practice
  • Seamless planning and photography by one connected team

A Morning of Calm Energy and Candid Moments

The wedding morning unfolded with an easy rhythm. The team at Shaken & Stirred intentionally built space into the timeline so nothing felt rushed. “Because we plan and photograph, we design a day that allows moments to breathe,” they explained. “We want couples to be present. To eat, laugh, hug, and actually enjoy the day they’ve spent months creating.”

Laura got ready surrounded by her bridesmaids, their laughter filling the room while fellow dog-mom and makeup artist Christie from Tussock worked her magic. Beautiful Bridal Hair styled soft, romantic waves that matched the autumn palette. The mood was relaxed, genuine, and filled with anticipation.

A Heartfelt Ceremony Framed by the Mountains

Set against Queenstown’s golden hills, the ceremony was both emotional and effortlessly elegant. “Their marriage and their people were everything to them. Seeing them finally make that commitment surrounded by everyone they love, it was pure joy.”

Emily from Your Big Day officiated, weaving personal memories and humor into heartfelt vows. Guests laughed and cried in equal measure, the crisp autumn air filled with warmth and connection. It was the perfect reflection of the couple’s energy. Authentic, fun, and overflowing with love.

A Celebration That Started Long Before the “I Dos”

Because Laura and Troy’s community means everything to them, the couple envisioned more than just a wedding. They wanted a full-blown Queenstown experience. “Their people are so, so important to them,” Shaken & Stirred shared. “We planned five days of activities so everyone could really connect before the wedding. There was the luge up Skyline, frisbee golf, cocktails at the ice bar, a taco night, wine and golf, and finally, a post-wedding pizza afternoon. It truly was a week of fun that just happened to include a wedding.”

Shop Rust Bridesmaid Dresses:

By the time the ceremony day arrived, guests already shared inside jokes and laughter from days spent exploring together. That sense of connection carried through the entire celebration, giving the day a warmth that went far beyond decor or design.

Designing a Romantic and Sustainable Autumn Queenstown Wedding

For design, Laura and Troy wanted the natural beauty of Queenstown to lead the way. “They were fully inspired by autumn. Their brief to us was simple: breathtaking, romantic, and fun. We built everything around those three words.”

The Winehouse provided the perfect canvas with its vineyard views and cozy interiors. Florals were sourced seasonally and locally to honor the couple’s sustainable values. Tablescapes glowed with warm tones, gold accents, and candlelight, effortlessly tying together the season’s romantic feel.

“They gave us a lot of creative freedom, which we love,” the team shared. “It’s how we create days that feel real. They trusted us completely, which allowed us to focus on flow and emotion instead of perfection.”

The food followed the same philosophy: intentional and joyful. “They’re both vegan and huge animal lovers, and they wanted to show guests that vegan food can be delicious and fun. Queenstown Catering absolutely nailed it! Everyone raved about how good the food was.”

Golden-Hour Portraits and Heartfelt Speeches

As dinner wound down, the couple slipped away for a few quiet minutes at sunset. “We took ten minutes during golden hour, after dinner was served, to let them breathe,” Shaken & Stirred recalled. “There was no posing. Just reflection, laughter, and even a hilarious first-dance practice.”

Back inside, the energy was electric. Guests cheered through tear-filled speeches and heartfelt toasts. “Seeing their friends and family stand up and talk about how awesome they are. It was incredible,” they said.

Music by Brett Walker and Mel carried the party into the night, mixing romantic tunes with upbeat sets from the full band. Every detail—the flow, the laughter, the dancing—felt natural and deeply personal.

Letting Go of Perfection to Celebrate What Matters Most

Looking back, Shaken & Stirred believes what made this Queenstown wedding so memorable was the couple’s mindset. “They never got lost in the details. They didn’t stress about stationery or seating charts. The day was about love, and because of that, everyone looked radiant. They couldn’t stop smiling.”

unknown

Their advice for other couples? “Find what’s important to you and don’t stress about the rest,” they shared. “When a wedding is about your marriage instead of a Pinterest board, that’s when the magic happens. And if you’re planning a destination wedding, work with a team who knows the area. It makes all the difference. Less stress, more joy.”

There’s something beautifully poetic about celebrating love in the very place it grew. For Giulia and Marco, that place was their garden in Naples. A lush haven overlooking the Gulf, surrounded by fruit trees, oaks, and the scent of summer. Their Italian garden wedding captured everything they wanted: romance without formality, joy without chaos, and beauty rooted in meaning.

  • A vibrant dress code that brought cheerful energy to the day
  • A vintage-inspired wedding dress and accessories with a personal story

How Chance Encounters Turned Into a Lifelong Love

Their story feels like something out of a romantic film. Complete with chance encounters, missed moments, and a serendipitous reunion.

In the summer of 2020, Giulia was a university student about to finish her master’s degree, and Marco was already a chef and restaurant owner in Naples’ historic center. One evening, an Irish tourist, who had struck up a brief summer fling with Giulia, asked for a dinner recommendation at a local bar. Marco happened to be there and suggested his own restaurant. That night, when Giulia walked in with her date, her and Marco’s eyes met for the first time.

They didn’t speak again for months, but the memory lingered. During another lockdown that October, they unexpectedly crossed paths at the same bar. This time, Marco seized the chance to talk to her, pretending not to remember their first meeting just to keep the conversation going.

When restrictions finally eased, Marco learned through the bar owner that Giulia was celebrating her birthday there. He arrived, dog in tow, and joined her for a chat. Within days, Giulia visited his restaurant with a friend, and what began as light conversation under a rain-soaked awning soon blossomed into something deeper.

Three years later, Marco surprised Giulia with a proposal that felt true to their story—quiet, intimate, and heartfelt. After a long day at the restaurant, he tied a ribboned ring box to the collar of his dog, Nepal, who woke Giulia from a nap on the couch with the sweetest surprise.

A Garden Ceremony That Set the Tone for an Unforgettable Celebration

The ceremony took place in their garden in Vomero, overlooking the sea, Mount Vesuvius, and Capri. It was officiated by a close friend, which made every word feel personal and genuine. “Our vows were incredibly emotional,” Giulia shared. “We’ll both always remember that feeling.”

Giulia walked down the aisle with both her parents to the gentle notes of Moon River, while their six witnesses delivered heartfelt speeches that brought everyone to tears. After a petal toss exit to Édith Piaf’s Je ne regrette rien, the newlyweds slipped away for portraits as guests mingled under the trees.

Dinner unfolded in the open air with music by a jazz–bossa nova band, followed by a surprise mini rock concert performed by friends. Later, before the cake cutting, Marco serenaded Giulia with A mano a mano by Rino Gaetano. A spontaneous gesture that perfectly captured their day’s spirit of love and laughter.

Fashion Rooted in Timeless Italian Style

Marco wore a custom linen suit by Neapolitan tailor Alessandro Ferrante in a warm tobacco shade, perfect for a summer celebration in the garden. A pastel yellow floral tie by E. Marinella added a soft touch of color.

Giulia’s look was inspired by vintage elegance. She found her gown at 1920 Atelier in Milan. A champagne silk charmeuse satin dress based on a 1930s pattern, complete with a deep V neckline and chevron pintuck embroidery. She paired it with gold mules by Gianvito Rossi and vintage jewelry, including her mother’s gold earrings and a ring set with blue and red stones that became her “something blue.”

Her hair and makeup were intentionally simple: glowing skin, soft curls, and a half-up hairstyle that framed her face naturally. “I wanted to feel like myself, just more luminous,” she said.

How They Planned an Italian Garden Wedding Full of Heart

From the very beginning, the couple wanted their Italian garden wedding to feel relaxed, colorful, and filled with laughter. “We didn’t choose a specific theme, but we had a clear idea of the atmosphere. We asked guests to wear colorful outfits. No black or white, to set a cheerful, vibrant tone for the day.”

They planned everything themselves, guided by emotion rather than formality. Instead of a traditional seated dinner, they opted for a roaming buffet that encouraged movement and connection. “We wanted to avoid static moments,” they said. “The buffet helped keep the joyful energy flowing all night.”

For vendors, they turned to friends and trusted local professionals. Alba Catering, run by a longtime family friend, helped them source florals, lighting, and decor. Junebug vendor Luigi Reccia’s photography style immediately resonated with them, capturing the day with warmth and elegance. Even the live sketch artist, Aldo Sacchetti, was a childhood friend who illustrated the couple dancing. A drawing later featured on their invitations and favors.

Thoughtful Wedding Details Sprinkled Throughout

Every element of the celebration carried meaning. Their favors were handmade: jars of jam prepared by Marco’s aunt, cookies baked by Marco himself, and traditional sugared almonds. Each was tucked into an illustrated envelope featuring Aldo’s drawing of the couple dancing.

Colorful fans engraved with their names and wedding date doubled as ceremony keepsakes, and the decor. Soft lights, natural wood, and local flowers were designed to enhance the garden’s charm rather than change it.

Even their pre-wedding moments were intentional: intimate dinners with witnesses and out-of-town guests helped set the emotional tone before the big day.

Heartfelt Reflections and Practical Advice for Future Newlyweds

For Giulia and Marco, their Italian garden wedding wasn’t about perfection. It was about presence. “Everything felt just perfect to us,” they said. “We truly wouldn’t change a thing.”

Their advice to future couples: “Stay true to yourselves and do everything with heart. Enjoy every moment of the journey, from the proposal to the planning, because it’s all part of the experience. Whether your wedding has 20 guests or 300, remember that it should reflect who you are as a couple. That’s what will make it unforgettable.”

Stephanie and Rudy always dreamed of tying the knot where the sand meets the sea, so a private beach wedding in Tulum felt like the most natural choice. It’s where they took their first holiday together and where they truly fell in love. The couple’s vision was simple but intentional: a day that felt relaxed, chic, and full of good energy.

Their story began through mutual friends, and from the moment they met, their connection was instant. “What started as an introduction quickly turned into something deeper,” they shared. “We’re total opposites. One calm and steady, the other loud and full of energy. But those differences balance us perfectly.” That balance carried into their wedding planning too, shaping a day that was equal parts effortless and elevated.

What We Love About This Private Beach Wedding

  • A minimal yet sophisticated beach aesthetic
  • Soft, romantic florals that complemented the natural setting
  • The couple’s and Memorybox Photography’s cool, editorial-style portraits
  • Personalized vows and heartfelt tributes to family

Bringing Their Vision to Life with the Right Team

Finding the right planner made all the difference. “I found Kristee of Fresa Weddings on Instagram and instantly fell in love with her work,” Stephanie shared. “She really understood everything we envisioned. So kind, so professional, and she made the entire experience fun and stress-free.”

The couple also praised their photographers, Junebug vendor MemoryBox Photography, for capturing the spirit of the day perfectly. “Their laid-back, elevated style reflected our vision exactly. Every picture feels alive, joyful, and true to the vibe we wanted.”

Their vendor team mirrored their personalities—creative, calm under pressure, and dedicated to making the day feel personal and effortless.

Finding the Perfect Setting for Their Private Beach Wedding

Choosing Tulum was an easy decision for Stephanie and Rudy. “It just felt right and totally us,” they said. “We wanted it to be small and private with just our closest family and friends. Minimalistic but still with that wow factor.” The beach itself set the tone for the entire event, allowing them to keep decor simple while letting the surroundings shine. Soft neutral tones, flickering candles, and twinkling chandeliers transformed the seaside into a dreamy escape.

From personal vows to heartfelt tributes to their parents, every part of the ceremony was intentional. “We wanted to make sure the people who shaped us felt seen and appreciated,” the couple shared.

Their reception continued that feeling of closeness. Chandeliers and candlelight turned the private beach wedding into a magical night under the stars, filled with laughter, dancing, and spontaneous joy.

Shop Classic White Pumps:

Effortlessly Chic Wedding Fashion With a Personal Touch

Stephanie’s bridal look was modern, playful, and full of personality. After trying countless traditional gowns, she discovered The Pearl Mini by Kim Kassas online. “As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the one,” she said. “It felt like me—fun, modern, and detailed in all the right ways.” The intricate lace, pearls, and beaded fringe gave her look a hint of vintage flair while keeping it light and beach-ready.

Her daughter and niece, dressed in pearl-dotted dresses, mirrored her look beautifully. Rudy opted for an off-white suit and loafers, striking the perfect balance between relaxed and elegant. Their two-year-old son completed the picture in linen pants and a waistcoat—a family moment that set the tone for their heartwarming ceremony.

Prioritizing What Mattered Most

Stephanie and Rudy kept their focus on creating an experience that felt authentic. “Our top priorities were the venue, the food, the drinks, the florals, the music, and the lighting. Everything else we kept simple.”

The floral design added a sense of understated luxury. Soft, elegant, and perfectly in tune with the beach surroundings. Music was another major focus, with acoustic melodies during the ceremony, house beats at cocktail hour, and hip-hop and R&B classics as the night unfolded. “The playlist evolved throughout the day. It really set the tone,” Stephanie recalled.

Overcoming Challenges and Staying Grounded

Just one month before the wedding, their original venue fell through. “At first, it felt like a huge curveball,” Stephanie admitted. “But it turned out to be fate. The new venue was even more perfect than we imagined.”

Thanks to Kristee’s calm guidance, the transition felt seamless. “She handled everything with grace. What started as a challenge became a blessing,” Stephanie reflected. “Our wedding turned out even more beautiful because of it.”

What They Learned While Planning Their Beach Wedding

Stephanie’s advice for couples planning their own private beach wedding is simple: “Get a videographer if you can. Photos are incredible, but video lets you relive the laughter, the music, and all the little moments you might miss.”

And above all, stay true to yourselves. “Do things your way,” she said. “Make choices that feel right for you, not just what tradition says. That’s what makes it special.”

Maria and Mario wanted their wedding to feel elegant but relaxed. A day focused on laughter, good company, and genuine connection. Instead of following tradition too closely, they planned a glamorous Portugal wedding that blended sophistication and fun. Their exquisite venue, Quinta Lago dos Cisnes, set the scene with its cascading greenery and opulent chandeliers, multiple outdoor spaces, and incredible architecture. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind wedding venue that required few extra design touches to come to life.

Their love story started years earlier at Maria’s cousin’s wedding, where Mario was the best man. “We started talking that day,” Maria recalled, “but Mario was already planning to emigrate to the Netherlands, and then COVID hit.” Life took them in different directions, until fate intervened three years later at a Christmas dinner. “We started talking again as if no time had passed,” she shared. “It’s true what they say—you need chemistry and timing.”

What We Love About This Quinta Lago dos Cisnes Wedding

  • A venue with seemingly endless photo opportunities
  • Minimalist decor that let the venue’s beauty shine
  • Three bridal looks and two outfit reveals throughout the day
  • Lawn games, a treasure hunt, and a laid-back celebration atmosphere
  • Elaborate cake-cutting ceremony featuring pyrotechnic elements like spark machines and flames

Drawing Inspiration From Quinta Lago dos Cisnes’ Timeless Setting

It’s easy to see why Quinta Lago dos Cisnes became their main source of inspiration. The venue’s natural beauty—complete with palm-lined gardens, fire pits, a riverside lake house, and mountain views—needed very little embellishment. To complement the setting, they kept decor minimal with soft lighting, golden details, and floral arrangements that blended seamlessly with the environment.

“The place is so iconic,” the couple explained. “We tried to balance our personalities with the venue’s character. Everything we did aimed to enhance its natural beauty rather than compete with it.”

A Ceremony Filled With Laughter, Faith, and Love

Set within the stunning grounds of Quinta Lago dos Cisnes, the ceremony took place beneath lush greenery and golden light filtering through the hanging vines. The couple worked with a priest who understood their desire for something relaxed yet meaningful. “He led a smooth and fun ceremony that deviated from the expected protocols,” they said.

Their families played a special role, with readings and words from their mothers and siblings adding a personal touch. One of the most memorable moments came when the priest gifted them a pair of wristbands, a symbolic gesture they’ll cherish forever.

Custom-Made Wedding Day Attire From A Portuguese Designer

For the couple, fashion was an essential part of expressing who they are. Working with designer Gio Rodrigues, who had dressed them before, made the process seamless. “It just made sense to trust and rely on him.”

Maria wore three looks: one for the cocktail reception, another for the ceremony, and a third for the evening party. Mario had two suits, one for the daytime and another for the celebration that followed.

To keep things cohesive yet personal, they chose golden gowns for the maids of honor and midnight blue suits for the best man, allowing each to customize their design.

A Glamorous Reception at Quinta Lago dos Cisnes

The reception balanced luxury with refinement. Round tables framed the pool, styled with candles and gold accents that glowed against the water. Overhead chandeliers tied the look together, adding just the right amount of structure and symmetry. Inside, the same neutral palette continued. Ivory florals, gold-rimmed glassware, and crisp lines that echoed the venue’s architecture.

Games, Laughter, and a Laid-Back Party Atmosphere

From the beginning, Maria and Mario agreed their wedding should feel like a day-long party surrounded by loved ones. After the ceremony, guests were treated to a series of games scattered throughout the venue, from Twister to Beer Pong, plus a treasure hunt for the bride’s bouquet and the groom’s gift. “Our guests really got into the spirit,” they said. “It was amazing to see everyone laughing and having fun.”

The couple limited their guest list to a close circle of family and friends, keeping the energy intimate and genuine. In true Portuguese fashion, food and drinks flowed freely, and children played among the tables as everyone celebrated late into the night.

The Value of Chemistry and Trust With Their Wedding Team

The couple described their vendor team as “the perfect mix of professionalism and friendship.” They were intentional about choosing people they connected with, from longtime collaborators to trusted recommendations. “It was mandatory for us to have chemistry with everyone. We wanted a team that felt like family.”

That sense of comfort paid off. “We didn’t feel nervous at any point. The venue’s team was amazing. They would come to us only when needed, explaining things calmly. Whenever something came up, it was already handled before we even knew about it.”

Their advice for future couples: “Be very selective when choosing your venue and vendors. Spending a little extra on the right people can save you time, stress, and headaches. Look for teams who genuinely love what they do.”

Modern, fun, and refreshingly effortless—that’s how Juliana and Graham imagined their day from the very beginning.  They wanted their Charlotte wedding to be filled with bold color, laughter, and a sense of ease that reflected their relationship. Pink and green became the perfect foundation: her favorite hue meets his, a combination that instantly felt joyful and unique. The couple leaned into playful elegance. Mixing refined details with lighthearted touches like dachshund-themed name cards and custom cocktails that had everyone smiling.

Their love story began back in college at Furman University. “We first met at a party in his apartment,” Juliana recalled. “We chatted most of the night but never exchanged names. A few months later, we met again when we were both acting as wingman and wingwoman for friends.” Years of long-distance followed, strengthening their bond through study abroad, grad school, and life in different cities. By the time they finally tied the knot, they knew their connection could weather anything.

What We Love About This Charlotte Wedding

  • A vibrant pink-and-green palette that felt modern yet timeless
  • Two custom bridal looks, including a gown sourced from Ireland at 75% off
  • A dachshund-inspired nod to their pup through name cards and cocktail napkins
  • Four creative dinner stations, most of which were gluten-free for the celiac groom
  • Heartfelt ceremony music featuring Frank Ocean and Calvin Harris on strings

Finding the Right Team to Bring Their Vision to Life

Planning a Charlotte wedding that felt “modern and fun” started with finding the right people. “I didn’t have a Pinterest board,” Juliana admitted. “I relied heavily on a planner to create the vision.” After chatting with several planners, she instantly clicked with Deanna from The Gathering Co. “She was bubbly, fun, and genuinely excited to work with us.”

Having a planner, she says, was the best decision she made. “Deanna handled communication, design, logistics—everything. She was 100% worth the investment.” Their planner also helped the couple find vendors they could trust. “We gave them full creative freedom. I told Deanna what I liked, and she found options that matched. I wanted vendors who were fun, easy to talk to, and who felt right.”

Making Meaningful Choices for Their Ceremony

Their indoor Charlotte wedding ceremony struck the perfect balance of sentimental and stylish. The music set the tone—Frank Ocean’s “Ivy” for Graham’s entrance and Calvin Harris’ “Feel So Close” for Juliana’s. “Who knew those songs would sound amazing on strings?”

To honor their late grandparents, they read their names aloud and held a moment of silence before the vows. “It meant a lot to include them,” she said.

And then came the kiss. “I hate PDA,” Juliana confessed. “My friends even placed bets on how long it would last. But I actually grabbed his face, which was a total surprise!”

Doing a first look earlier in the day helped calm nerves. “It took so much stress off. We also spent the last hour before the ceremony together. It was nice to just be alone before the whirlwind.”

Balancing Style and Personality Through Fashion

Fashion became one of Juliana’s favorite parts of wedding planning. “I wanted my wedding gown to feel modern and chic,” she said. Alexia’s Bridal even reached out to her chosen designer and shipped in dresses from their new collection for her to try. “It felt like a mini sample sale just for me!”

Her second gown came from Still White, a resale site where she found the same dress she’d tried locally, but for 75% off. “It didn’t feel super bridal at first, but I fell in love once I saw it styled my way.”

She paired her looks with statement shoes. A pair of light pink Prada heels for the ceremony and chartreuse Larroude heels for the reception. “Whenever I dress up, I love fun shoes, so I needed to do the same for my wedding!”

Her bridesmaids wore black dresses of their choice with any pink heels they’d actually wear again. “I just wanted them to feel like themselves,” she explained. Meanwhile, Graham surprised her with a custom houndstooth-lined suit—a nod to his car’s seats—and pocket squares gifted by the designer.

Turning Their Vision Into a Party to Remember

If their ceremony was heartfelt, the reception was pure fun. The couple designed their menu around their go-to delivery orders. “My husband calls it a snapshot of our Postmates history,” Juliana joked. Guests enjoyed four food stations—crab cakes, Indian, tacos, and sliders—all gluten-free except one.

The dance floor came alive thanks to DJ Vinny, who the couple chose purely based on energy. “He had so much energy on our Zoom call. After we hung up, my husband said, ‘It’s DJ Vinny or no other DJ.’”

Music was one of the most personal parts of their day. The string quartet performed “Hold On, We’re Going Home” by Drake, “Alejandro” by Lady Gaga, and “Latch” by Disclosure. All songs tied to their relationship. When the sound system briefly disconnected, guests filled the silence by singing along together. “It was so unexpected but so fun!”

And in true 2020s wedding fashion, a few surprises made for good stories. Like an uninvited guest who was graciously seated by coordinators and a limo rescue after their getaway car got into a fender bender.

Final Thoughts From the Couple

“As a bride, it’s easy to believe you need everything you see on Instagram,” Juliana said. “But if something suddenly feels like a ‘must-have,’ ask yourself: do I really need it, and is it worth the energy?”

Her advice to other couples: “Don’t get worked up on the little things. It is what it is, and your guests will have a good time no matter what.”

Fabiola and Adrián wanted their wedding to feel like them—elegant, warm, and effortless. Their elegant garden wedding took place in a serene outdoor space surrounded by trees, soft blooms, and golden light. Every detail reflected their love for simplicity, from the neutral color palette and lush greenery to a black-tie dress code that made the day feel timeless yet relaxed.

They first met during a tennis match, and what began as a casual encounter quickly turned into something lasting. “We met at a tennis match, love blossomed instantly, and I knew he was the love of my life,” Fabiola shared. That same sense of ease and connection shaped their day. A celebration that felt natural, romantic, and deeply personal.

What We Love About This Elegant Garden Wedding

  • The bride’s sleek off-shoulder gown paired with modern minimalism
  • Guests dressed in black, creating a timeless visual harmony
  • A tango show honoring Adrián’s family heritage
  • Personal touches like live violinists and a cocktail cart for guests

Designing an Elegant Garden Wedding Rooted in Simplicity

Fabiola’s goal was to keep things simple and intentional. The garden itself set the tone, with white flowers, soft drapery, and gold details adding a quiet touch of luxury. “I wanted something intimate, peaceful, and surrounded by nature,” she said. Against the soft green backdrop, the guests’ all-black attire created a striking contrast that made every photo look effortlessly refined.

A Meaningful Ceremony With Family at the Heart

The ceremony was both emotional and intimate. Fabiola walked down the aisle hand in hand with her son, a moment she described as unforgettable. Surrounded by trees and music, the couple exchanged vows in a setting that felt personal and full of calm. “It was a truly memorable moment,” she shared.

Elevated Fashion That Matched the Mood

Fabiola embodied modern elegance in a minimalist off-shoulder gown that flowed beautifully against the garden setting. Her look was polished yet understated, with natural makeup and sleek hair that highlighted her features without overpowering the simplicity of the dress. Adrián complemented her style perfectly in a classic black suit.

Celebrating With Music, Dance, and Heartfelt Surprises

After the ceremony, guests were treated to live performances that set the tone for the evening. A tango show paid tribute to Adrián’s family roots, followed by violinists during dinner and surprise serenades by mariachis. “The surprises were the serenades with mariachis and the tango dancers,” Fabiola said. The mix of music, laughter, and movement gave the celebration an energy that felt both refined and full of life.

Creating a Guest Experience That Felt Effortless and Memorable

From start to finish, Fabiola and Adrián focused on making their guests feel cared for. “My priority was to make it memorable,” she said. With thoughtful details, live music, and an inviting atmosphere, every part of the day reflected their gratitude and warmth. “Everything was done with so much love and care for our guests,” Fabiola added.

Advice From the Couple: Keep It Simple and Enjoy Every Moment

Looking back, Fabiola’s advice for other couples is to stay present and focus on what truly matters. “Create a space and a moment that everyone will remember. And enjoy it to the fullest.”

Their elegant garden wedding proved that sophistication doesn’t have to be complicated. With a thoughtful vision, the right team, and a focus on love, simplicity can be the most beautiful form of luxury.

Jess and Rob’s bohemian Scottish wedding looked like something out of a 1970s dream. Mismatched vintage furniture, rich earthy tones, and a relaxed, living-room atmosphere that felt more like a gathering of friends than a formal affair. Inspired by the free-spirited energy of Laurel Canyon, they set out to create a celebration that felt nostalgic, handmade, and beautifully imperfect.

It was a vision rooted in who they are as a couple. The two Scots first met in the French Alps during the 2016  ski season. He was training to be an instructor, she was on a gap year. And what began as a fleeting winter romance slowly became something lasting. Years of traveling between France and Scotland eventually gave way to a more grounded life together, and after attending a friend’s wedding, they realized they wanted to host a party of their own. One filled with music, warmth, and personality.

What We Love About This Bohemian Scottish Wedding

  • A ’70s-inspired color palette of mustard, camel, brown, and burgundy
  • DIY florals and mismatched vintage furniture for that lived-in, Laurel Canyon feel
  • Pressed-flower bolo ties made by the bride’s dad
  • Two vintage wedding dresses
  • A handfasting ceremony inspired by Scottish and Welsh traditions

Turning Vintage Inspiration Into a Modern-Day Celebration

Jess and Rob’s vision was crystal clear: a bohemian Scottish wedding that looked like you’d stepped into a 1970s Laurel Canyon living room. “We wanted the decor and furniture to feel cobbled together and mismatched, rather than polished and precise,” Jess said. They pulled inspiration from ’60s and ’70s patterns, Pinterest boards, and weddings like Mimi Fariña’s in the ’60s—filled with Persian rugs, wooden furniture, and faded charm.

They didn’t hire a planner but found their dream coordinator in Gemma Lavender of Lavender Blue. “She took so much of the admin and logistics off our shoulders,” Jess shared. “It let us focus on making things look pretty!” From sourcing vintage doilies and lampshades to DIY macramé candle lanterns, Jess and her family poured months of love into every corner.

Building a Team That Shared Their Creative Vision

Gemma also helped them find vendors who fit the easygoing energy they wanted. Food and photography topped the couple’s priority list. As vegetarians, Jess and Rob wanted a menu that would excite every guest despite any dietary restrictions. “Platter and Pop’s sample menu was the most interesting and delicious sounding by far,” they said. “Lauren and her team were so kind and flexible with every catering query.”

Photography was equally essential. “It sounds morbid, but we knew the photographs would be all we’d have left someday.” Junebug vendor Caro Weiss Photography was the perfect fit, capturing the laughter, chaos, and joy of the day in Caro’s signature candid style. “She’s unbelievably talented at being exactly the presence you need behind the camera at any moment,” Jess said.

A Ceremony That Wove Together Scottish and Welsh Traditions

The ceremony setup was simple but full of character. A wooden fireplace stood as the backdrop, surrounded by baskets and crates of wildflowers in soft, earthy tones. Layered rugs and mismatched chairs completed the cozy, lived-in look that tied perfectly into their bohemian Scottish wedding theme.

Because the legal ceremony took place earlier that week, the pair could design a deeply personal symbolic one. A close family friend, Struan Leslie, officiated with theatrical grace, while Jess’s siblings sang Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere” as she walked down the aisle. It was an emotional moment that turned into a spontaneous group sing-along.

In one of the most memorable parts of their bohemian Scottish wedding, guests brought strips of fabric to “tie the knot,” inspired by Scotland’s clootie wells. The strips were tied around a Welsh lovespoon, symbolizing their unity. “We plan to frame our knot and display it in our home,” Jess shared.

Bringing Personality Into Every Fashion Detail

The couple’s fashion choices were a love letter to the ’70s. Rob traded tradition for a sandy-colored linen suit from Twisted Tailor, paired with bolo ties crafted by Jess’s dad using pressed-flower slides—a creative, personal touch that replaced boutonnieres.

Jess found her wedding dress on Vinted for under £500—a pristine 1974 piece once sold at a now-closed Welsh department store. “The seller even sent me photos of her mum wearing it at her own wedding,” Jess recalled. For dancing, she swapped into a chic STAUD dress from Net-A-Porter. Even her shoes and accessories came secondhand, staying true to her sustainable mindset.

Her friend and neighbor Kelly Neilson created “bohemian and undone” hairstyles using eyelash glue to keep the flowers in place, while makeup artist Heather Snowie perfected a natural glow with subtle ’70s flair. Bridesmaids chose their own dresses in coordinating tones for a cohesive yet individual look.

A Vintage-Inspired Party That Felt Like a Living Room

The celebration continued at The Cow Shed, a venue that instantly felt right. “Seeing it set up for another couple’s wedding that day and feeling the excitement was so infectious,” Jess said. Its rustic charm and blank-canvas layout made it perfect for their eclectic decor.

Jess sourced mismatched chairs and crockery from Prop Hire Scotland and Green Cockatoo, creating a lived-in aesthetic that felt intimate and real. “It looked as though everyone had brought along their own chair from home,” she said.

DIY touches ran deep: handmade tulle runners adorned with vintage doilies, curtains from Vinted, a freestanding fireplace built by Rob’s dad, and a photo wall honoring past family weddings. “Our guests kept saying, ‘My granny had those curtains!’ which was exactly the vibe we wanted.”

After heartfelt speeches, a trad band had everyone ceilidh-dancing by 3 p.m., fueled by spritz cocktails served from Kilner jars. The night ended with custom Rude Cookies heart-shaped cakes—lemon sponge with pistachio buttercream and raspberry jam. “They didn’t just look amazing, they were the best cakes we’ve ever eaten in our lives.”

What They Learned About Staying True to Their Vision

When asked for advice, Jess and Rob emphasized staying true to what matters most. “Ensure things are exactly how you want them, and don’t be scared to stand your ground,” they shared. “Everyone’s idea of how a wedding should look or feel will differ, but this is your day. If it matters to you both, find a way to make it happen.”

And as for their biggest takeaway? “There’s no other time in your life where everyone you love is together for a weekend in the same place to party like that,” Jess said. “Enjoy every second.”

When Sophia and Hanting first began planning their big day, they knew there was only one place that could hold the weight of their story—Joshua Tree. After all, it was here, among wind-swept boulders and endless skies, that Hanting had proposed. Returning for their wedding felt like coming full circle, transforming the very landscape of their engagement into the backdrop of their vows.

The couple first discovered Junebug vendor Manna Sun Events while browsing past weddings and reviews. They were drawn to the team’s sensitivity to materials, attention to detail, and calm professionalism, which quickly built a foundation of trust. For Sophia and Hanting, it was important to work with someone who could turn their individuality into an atmosphere and a story, not just decor.

Their planner recalls that their priority was to let guests “feel the poetry of the desert—its shifting winds, changing light, and subtle temperature.” Instead of transforming the environment, the couple wanted to honor it, creating a celebration that was equal parts intimate, soulful, and rooted in place.

What We Love About This Joshua Tree Wedding

  • A color palette inspired by desert earth tones: terracotta, honey, sage, and sand
  • Handmade woven rattan cacti that doubled as forever keepsakes
  • A cactus-shaped seating chart set in real sand
  • A unity ritual where guests layered colorful grains into a communal artwork
  • Evening poolside glow globes that echoed the desert stars

Trust, Preparation, and Flexibility in a Joshua Tree Wedding

Sophia and Hanting’s busy schedules meant they placed complete trust in their planner and vendor team. Rather than dictating every choice, they focused on the feelings they wanted the day to capture. That freedom allowed the team to layer in thoughtful details. Menus chosen for texture, florals that moved with the wind, and linens that caught the changing light. Each vendor added their own artistry, from desert-inspired florals and photography that embraced fleeting light to a minimalist cake accented with grapes and florals, plus rentals, music, and graphics that shaped the overall flow.

Of course, hosting a wedding in the desert brought its challenges. High winds, shifting temperatures, and dryness required careful planning. Structures were reinforced, drought-tolerant plants and dried florals were used for resilience, signage was stabilized with stones, and blankets and heaters were provided for comfort. The planner’s advice for other couples is clear: preparation matters, but so does flexibility. “Nature will always have the last word,” they explained. “If you embrace it, even the unpredictable moments become part of the story.”

A Ceremony That Let the Landscape Lead

The ceremony was designed to highlight Joshua Tree’s raw beauty. Chairs were placed with space between them so wind and light could move naturally. Native florals and grass were styled among rocks and sand to look as though they belonged there. Since large cacti weren’t available locally, the team collaborated with the florist to create woven rattan versions that flanked the altar (which later became keepsakes for the couple.)

Guests also participated in a sand-pouring ritual. The planner noted how meaningful it was to see everyone layer colors symbolizing happiness, loyalty, tolerance, and joy, becoming a tangible reminder for the couple.

Wedding Fashion Inspired by the Desert

Sophia wore four incredible dresses throughout her Joshua Tree wedding. The ceremony gown featured a dramatic lace train and a simple veil, paired with a bouquet of dried botanicals that reflected the desert’s textures. Sophia’s bridesmaids also sported sleek, minimal, white looks to compliment the bride and the environment. Hanting’s classic black suit provided a sharp contrast against the soft, earthy palette around them.

For the reception, both the bride and groom changed into different outfits. Sophia chose a sparkly, corset gown while Hanting opted for a more casual, muted sage green suit.

Manna Sun Events shared that their portraits at golden hour captured the essence of the day: “Hand in hand across the sand, they seemed to be standing at the center of the universe.”

Details That Brought the Desert Into the Celebration

The reception was staged beside the pool, where striped linens, rattan chairs, and ceramic details tied into the desert color palette. “We wanted the design to feel like it belonged here,” the planner said, noting how details like woven fibers, stone, and glass reflected the desert setting.

One of the standout details, according to them, was the cactus-shaped seating chart nestled in real sand. It turned the simple task of finding a seat into a small experience.

As night fell, glowing orbs drifted across the pool like stars, while candlelight added warmth. The cake captured what the planner described as refined minimalism: simple in shape, rich in detail.

Dinner flowed into portraits, and when the couple returned, the desert had shifted into a candlelit party. Manna Sun Events described it as “a rhythm between people and place. Every change in light transformed the atmosphere.”

Nature’s Role in Their Joshua Tree Wedding

Two moments stood out. During dinner, when Hanting’s ring slipped, guests lit the desert with their phone flashlights. A small crisis that quickly turned into a moment of support. Later, once the reception ended, the rain finally came. Its timing felt more like closure than disruption, as though the desert had held off until the celebration was complete.

As Manna Sun Events reflected, weddings in places like Joshua Tree are powerful because “it’s an opportunity to collaborate with nature itself. Wind, light, rock, and sky aren’t props. They’re part of the celebration.”

Love stories sometimes unfold when the timing finally feels right. For Karla and Carlos, that moment came at a friend’s party. “We ended up being the last ones to leave because we were so caught up in conversation,” they recalled. The very next day they went out for breakfast, spent the whole day together, and instantly knew their connection was something special. Years later, that same sense of natural chemistry guided their vision for a celebration that felt effortless, intimate, and filled with intention. Their Guadalajara wedding was designed like one long dinner with friends.

What We Love About This Guadalajara Wedding

  • A single long dinner table styled with candles and neutral tones
  • An orchestra and choir filling the ceremony with emotion
  • A cocktail hour featuring a flamenco band and spritz bar
  • A magnolia bouquet that became a statement piece of bridal style
  • A dinner playlist curated by the couple with Afro-tech favorites

How They Made Their Guadalajara Wedding Personal

From the start, Karla and Carlos dreamed of a day that would reflect who they are at heart. Their Guadalajara wedding leaned into neutral colors layered with candlelight to set a cozy yet sophisticated tone. “The idea was for it to feel like an intimate dinner with friends, which is why we chose to have just one long table,” Karla explained.

They worked closely with their planner, who helped bring their vision to life without overshadowing their style. Vendors came through Instagram searches and planner recommendations, but what mattered most was finding people who “embraced my vision, supported my ideas, and helped turn them into reality, not by imposing their own style.”

Adding Meaning To Their Ceremony Through Music

The ceremony was held in a church where the couple kept their “first look” moment sacred. “Walking into the church, seeing him waiting at the altar, and catching the look on his face was one of the most unforgettable moments of the day,” Karla shared.

What made the service especially powerful was the orchestra and choir. “Their music filled the church with emotion, giving us goosebumps from beginning to end,” the couple recalled. They also exchanged vows privately earlier in the day, making the ceremony feel both grand and deeply personal.

Elegant, Refined Fashion for Their Guadalajara Wedding

Karla and Carlos embraced a look that was classic and refined from head to toe. Carlos chose a sharp black tuxedo with a bow tie, keeping his style traditional and polished. Karla wore a strapless gown with intricate embroidery and a flowing train, striking the perfect balance between elegance and comfort. She completed her look with sheer floral applique opera gloves, soft sapphire earrings, a simple veil, and sleek hair that let her magnolia bouquet shine as the ultimate statement piece.

Making the Most of Their Venue’s Natural Beauty

Their venue’s stunning trees and landscapes became a central part of the celebration. Instead of covering it up, Karla and Carlos enhanced the setting with thoughtful lighting, choosing decor that felt minimal and organic. “The decision to keep the decor minimal, allowing nature itself to shine, reflected our personalities perfectly,” Karla explained.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a vibrant cocktail hour with a flamenco band, a spritz bar to cool off in the summer heat, and a spread of cheeses and charcuterie. The atmosphere was relaxed and celebratory, giving the couple time to mingle with loved ones.

Dinner, Dancing, and Details That Stood Out

Dinner was one of the couple’s favorite parts of the night, made unforgettable by the stunning setup. A single serpentine banquet table stretched beneath towering trees, lined with soft neutral linens, earthy-toned florals, and clusters of glowing pillar candles that bathed the space in warm light. To make it even more personal, Karla and Carlos curated the dinner playlist themselves, filling it with Afro-tech songs they loved. “Our goal was for dinner to feel like a shared meal among friends. Warm, relaxed, and effortless.”

Later, the celebration shifted to the dance floor, which stayed packed from beginning to end. “The sight of the dance floor full all night long, with everyone smiling and dancing, is one of the most treasured memories.”

Tips for Balancing Vision and Budget on Your Big Day

Like many couples, Karla and Carlos faced challenges balancing their vision with their budget. They chose to prioritize food, music, and photography, investing in elements that would shape the guest experience.

The weather was their biggest worry, but even when little details went differently than planned, they embraced it as part of the story. “Honestly, for me everything was perfect, even the little things that didn’t go exactly as planned,” Karla said.

Her advice to other couples: “Enjoy every moment, because it goes by so fast. Don’t let anything distract you from that. Always remember that the heart of it all is the family you’re building together; everything else is secondary.”
